Major Mendoza is a Fighter Pilot who flies the FA-50PH Fighter Surface Attack.
Lead In Fighter Jet Aircraft and the AS-211 fighter jet trainer aircraft as a Line Fighter Pilot of the Philippine Air Force and has flown more than 700 flight hours in addition to his time in T-41D and SF-260 aircraft combined. In his career as a fighter pilot, he flew air strike missions in highly conflicted areas such as Cotabato, Maguindanao and Jolo Sulu that led to the neutralization and defeat of enemies of the state such as terrorists and insurgents. He is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy in 2003 and the US Air Force Academy Colorado in 2008 as a Distinguished Graduate.

A promising young cadet at the PMA, LCdr. Bercades graduated in March 2005 and was commissioned as an Ensign of the Philippine Navy (PN). He finished his Naval Command and Staff Course in March 2015, where he graduated number 1 in a class of 40. In 2008, he was selected to join the Naval Air Group (now the Naval Air Wing) of the Philippine Fleet. There he flew majority of the aircraft in NAW’s inventory from fixed wing aircraft such as Cessna 152 and 172, to naval helicopters like Robinson R22, BO-105C, and Agusta Westland 109 Naval Helicopters. At present, he is designated as the Squadron Commander of the Maritime Strike Helicopter Squadron of the Naval Air Wing, the primary responsible for the deployment, operation, and maintenance of the AW109 E helicopters.

His leadership has inspired many reforms for the benefit of air traffic controllers all over the country. His quick decision-making under pressure and mindfulness of the rules are the reasons we are all able to fly through Philippine airspace with confidence. He recently completed an Advanced Master Course in Aviation Safety at the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation (ENAC) or The French Civil Aviation University, in Toulouse, France and is currently the Regional Vice President of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (IFATCA).

Michel Gordillo is a world record aviator, and the first person to circumpolar-navigate the world in an experimental aircraft with a mass of less than 1,750 kilograms. Michel built the Vans RV-8 aircraft he used, modifying it for his polar mission. He was captain of Iberia Airlines flying the A319, A320, and A321. He also served in the Spanish Air Force flying the T-34 Mentor, T-6 Texan, CASA C212, P3 Orion and Falcon 20 aircraft. He was also assigned in the 45th Air Force Group, transporting the King of Spain, the royal family, government ministers and dignitaries. In total he has more than 15,000 hours of flight. Michel is also a glider pilot, holding the title C silver, and is a member of the Spanish national glider team.
